Thang Nguyenθæŋ

I am a master’s student exploring cybersecurity, with a particular interest in the intersection of security and privacy. My current research interests focus on user tracking and privacy, particularly how tracking mechanisms are deployed in real-world systems, what information they can expose, how they can be abused, and how such practices can be detected and mitigated.

During my undergraduate studies, I worked on threat modeling, focusing on identifying and addressing security risks early in the system development process. My undergraduate thesis, conducted under the guidance of Anh-Duy Tran and Prof. Minh-Triet Tran, explored approaches to automating threat modeling to support more systematic and efficient security analysis during system design.

• September 2026: I moved to Madrid (Spain) to pursue Master in Software and Systems at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid.
• August 2026: Our paper was accepted at the International Conference on Future Data and Security Engineering (FDSE 2026). I was the first author of this paper, which was based on my undergraduate thesis conducted at the Computer Security Lab.
• May 2026: I was awarded a fellowship and attended the Rising Scholars Fellowship Programme 2026 at the Singapore Management University.
• March 2026: I served as a staff member at Global Cybersecurity Camp 2026 in Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Nam.
• August 2025: I received a local student grant to participate in AsiaCCS 2025 in Ha Noi, Viet Nam.
• December 2024: Our paper was accepted at the International Symposium on Information and Communication Technology (SOICT 2024). I was a co-first author of this paper.
